I have had my two separate engins go out at about 17,000 mile due to counter balancer problems deep inside the engine.
Is it just my luck, or has anyone else had similar problems?
I am on my third engine now. I use synthetic oil and change it often. It didn't stop it from happening last time.
Does anyone have any Ideas?
OK 45,000 miles and nothing... and dont even use synthetic. Was using 40wt and 50 wt and 60 weight from 30K to 40K, but now back to 10W40, the hell with oil useage...
Cool.

no, but I have a spare if our interested. pm me.
Had one go out on my track bike. The new motor has no counterbalance shaft (the crank was rebalanced by Falicon) and it seems smoother than stock, at least on the track.

OK at 45K, today accelerating hard it seemed to make this jerky motion from 5-8K, like power pulses... its been doing that a little of late. Usually in 3 or 4th and usually same rpm range.... is that a symptom of the thing begining to go... or is it somehting else.
Cool.
Srinath.
I noticed my counter balancers going out when I was at an idle. It sounded like a hard Kurchunk...Kurchunk....Kurchunk when idling at stop lights. At first, it went away at higher rpms. But as soon as you are as far away from help as possible, the kurchunks come back at higher rpms. They get louder and harder until your engine can no longer turn over. If it was a horse... I would have shot it. :guns:
still have the First engine?
I don't have my first engine any more. But I do have a spare engine sitting around in case I need the parts.
