What to do when it rains?
Well ... if you know ahead of time, and your rear tire needs replacing ....

Well ... if you know ahead of time, and your rear tire needs replacing ....
- 1) Whip the rear wheel off before leaving for work.
2) DRIVE to work for once, dropping off the wheel and new tire at the dealership.
3) Pick up the mounted tire on your way home.
4) Spend the remaining daylight in your nice dry shed while your two 5-month-old Labrador pups chase each other in the rain and peridiocally dash in, threatening to knock everything across the floor.
5) Enjoy the cloud-capped scenery.
6) Finish putting the rear wheel back on. This step is

Bad news even after 3 & 1/2 years and training classes they dont get any better :roll: , pups for life they just become bigger and stronger no wonder it cost 1000s of dollars to train guide dogs. That said what a great dog they are 8)
But youve got two :lol: :lol: :lol:

i wear mine down to cords, havent found any sources for 20$ tires to change them when they are spose to be changed, My front tire is bald on the outer edges right now just about to break through to next layer of rubber. the center tred is about 2" wide and really thin. im trying to get a metz off ebay right now.

Bigger and stronger: They now destroy in minutes what it took them DAYS to destroy a couple months ago.

I'm also a lab fan, grew up with labs and golden retrievers. My wife wanted something different, so we adopted a weimaraner. She's fantastic, though she tends to behave as an under-damped lab. She's either more mellow and snuggly, or more energetic. Two modes--no in-between. But yeah, she likes to get involved when I'm working on the bike. Play "hide the raquetball somewhere he's working". Made the valve adjustment a little more interesting.
Yeah, this is a motorcycle board, right? :) When it rains, I try to get the house projects done that I've been avoiding while riding. So when it gets sunny, I can ride guilt-free! There's a mountain pass (Cascade Lakes Hwy) that they finished carving out of the snow Tuesday, and I've been itchin' to ride it.

To keep this thread out of the Odds & Ends forum :roll: , how about I get back to changing the rear tire?
In the past I have suggested threading the various bits of hardware on the rear axle for safekeeping while the wheel is away having the new tire mounted. But (gasp!) I've never taken a picture to illustrate....
Here is what I'm talking about:

- 17 Split pin (or Cotter pin)
16 Axle nut
15 Washer
2 Drive chain adjuster plate
14 Outer spacer
5 Spacer

Ok, so Ill keep this OT then! Kerry, can we have more pictures of your dogs? Im a major labrador fan, everyone that goes past I have to pat. One even comes into work when he walks his owner past to say g'day. They are just the best. I used to be able to borrow my mums dog but since I moved to Sydney been dog deprived. You are a lucky man! MORE DOGGIE PICS AND INFO PLEASE. :thumb:

i don't have labs, but i understand the "inseparable sisters" situation. i really only planned to bring one dog home from the shelter...really...
