Ok, so if I own my own domain name (which I do) what is needed to make it resolve to your hosting location?
Just change the name server entries with your registrar to point to the eachosting name servers ns1.eachosting and ns2.eachosting
Then it takes about 48 hours for the changes to propagate across the Internet.

The place where you are hosting your stuff right now is free space provided by a ISP or something, right? You could just provide a redirect to your new location when someone hits your old place. Just an idea. John should have the ability to modify the SQL records if he is willing to help.

Just wanted to let people know that Chris has made a donation in Kerry's name just as he promised. Yes, the servers have PHP and mySQL installed and you will have direct FTP access to your account. Subdomains are also included and there isn't any preset limit on the number of mySQL, subdomains or email accounts.

i am very interested, i have www.frankgallagher.ca it costs me 29 canadian a month for it. my problem is i have no idea how to switch it over. 40 a year is a great deal.
All you need to do is contact the company that you registered the domain with and have them change the nameserver information associated with the domain. My nameservers are NS1.EACHOSTING.COM and NS2.EACHOSTING.COM

what about https and the ability to process credit card transactions?
There is a shared SSL certificate on the server that you can use or for an additional fee you can have a dedicated IP address and get your own SSL certificate which can be installed. The cost for a dedicated IP address is $30 per year (normally the charge is $5 per month so it is a savings of $30).

One last thing I forgot to mention....
This price does not include the domain registration. It is up to the user to register the domain and it is best to have this domain purchased prior to signing up. I personally use www.godaddy.com and recommend using them for domain registration in the US. GoDaddy charges ~$8 per year for this service and that is cheaper than I would be able 'resell' this service for (which is why I don't sell them).

Once in a great while it seems like my site is down ... but only for a few moments at a time. I think it's more likely that my connection is down. You know, the wireless feed that I'm getting from the antenna on richard's house some 70-80 yards away. :roll: He has a great antenna, but I don't. :x
The EACHosting upload and download speed is significantly faster than my old Sisna provider. And I DO really like all of the options and features. There's still a lot of them that I haven't explored....

You could have a cool domain name. All you need to do is go register it with
godaddy.com or another domain registrar or I will register it for you if you pay me the $8.95 or whatever the cost of the domain registration is.

After a week with this service, I have to say that there are a LOT of features available. I was paying about $90/year for less features, so I think $40/year is a steal. Server stability seems good. Speed seems good, except for one thing thing - cpanel. I don't imagine I'll be using this thing a whole lot, so I'm not really going to spend a lot of time figuring out why. Everything else is fast.
Looks like this was a problem with the web browser being used.

Just wanted to let you know that the server is currently down. The primary hard drive is about to fail, so it isn't running very stable. The techs at the data center are getting ready to change out the hard drive and I will update as necessary.
The daily backups look good, so there shouldn't be any lost data.
