:) my rims want to bee yellow. :P I spent 1/2 hour looking in archives :x for a thread on it I saw like a week or three ago, but to no avail. Please help me. I want to paint the rims and my calipers so if anyone feels the need to release some knowledge, I'm here for you. :)
Ah, someone smarter than me that asked first before painting. The wheels aren't that hard. Just clean with degreaser, some light sanding, and you're ready to go! :thumb:
I think there is an old thread called "Painting the rims" from last month.
Did the rims express this desire on their own, or did they have help? ;)
The rims on your '99 are currently black or nearly so, right? The only germ of wisdom I could impart is due to the nature of yellow paint-- it don't cover a dark color worth a crapola. If I was doing the job, I'd prepare the rims and use flat white as a first coat. The natural pigments in white are more dense than the more chemically-derived ones that are used for bright colors (especially yellow), and will cover well enough in a couple of thin coats. If you use yellow only, you'll end up using more coats for a good finish and spending more money.

Had mine sandblasted and powder coated a while ago. I wanted to have the durability of powder coat on the rims because they tend to get greasy/dirty alot so you have to clean them alot. There are some photos under my ID if you do a search. I think I had the price in that post too.
