finally got my bt45s on and some free time to ride. rode outta DC at 11am to hit up the 211 twisties. i was still feeling adventurous, so i headed down to harrisonburg, and out 33 west to the WV border. that is such an unbelievable road. 4 miles up of 180 degree switchbacks and double-apex turns, not much traffic and mountainous beauty.
for anyone that hasn't jumped on the bridgestone bandwagon yet, i HIGHLY recommend it! my lil gs feels sooo much more stable at speed, whether highway or hairpin. i cooked the 120 highway miles back and never dropped much below 90mph (as indicated on the crappy speedo anyway).
total trip = 400 miles, 8 hours in the saddle. :thumb:
Cool looking bike. I too have the BT45's but they came with the bike, wasn't a specific choice by me :)
I haven't experienced any other tires, but it does seem like mine are a bit wobbly at high speed, ie around max which is about 100-105 indicated for me.
ASLAM.
Dude, sorry I missed that trip. Did you announce it on the board? If you did I'll kick myself for missing it. I would have ridden north (I'm only 3 hours south of 33) and met you in Harrisonburg, VA. Route 33 from VA and WV is an awsome piece of road. :thumb: You don't just ride 33 you have an orgasmic relationship with it and smoke a cigarette when you get back to 81 or cuddle with you motorcycle.
If you ever have an inkling to ride these wonderful western VA and WV mountain roads please 'pm' me or announce it here and I'll be there. Just need a week's notic to beg with my wife for the day away. I ride these roads alot by myself but they're more fun with someone to share it with.
hey von...
didn't announce it, it was kind of a last minute decision trip... next time i know i'm heading down there i'll def post it up. would be nice to have someone else up there with ya.
Nice picture, you've got a good eye for the angles. That goes for the other pictures youv'e posted too. Are you photographer or something?
I just opened the links in your profile and i think i answered my own question  Nice work :thumb:
thanks! i went to school for photography, but ended up liking computer design better.
it's a little embarrassing, but i just realized that i ripped myself off! that pic is almost exactly the same as this previous one i shot and posted.
