I have a flat rear tire :( . I got some sticky plugs two in fact and jammed them in the tire. It's working fine now but the 'cautions' on the packaging say not to use for Z-rated tires? I have the Bridgestone stock tires are they Z-rated?
Anygood places where to get a rear tire? I might even go for the next rear wider/taller tire so what you think?

thanks for the info Kerry. I was already looking at sites to buy the tire. I'll keep the tire as is (good idea/bad idea/cheap idea :dunno: ), since the tires are 'H' rated and check the pressure everyday to make sure plugs are doing their job. :thumb:
The only really "good" way to plug a tire is from the inside using the big mushroom looking ones..
I'd replace the tire or put a better plug in it....

Patching is always better than plugging a tire. I know this yet I have had a plug in my rear tire for 4000 miles now (BT45's). The rear holds air as good or sometimes better than the front tire. It is nearly in the middle of the tire too. :dunno:
it depends what kind of riding you do, i would feel fine riding aroudn town on a patched tire, but i dont' think i'd take the thing over 60mph, and back roads wouldn't be fun at all anymore cause i wouldn't lean it over in the turns at all, so if you mostly just ride around town or wherever, i'd think you'll be ok, but if you push the bike a lot when you ride, i'd either cool it until your tire needs replaced in a few thousand miles, or else get a new tire, after burning that one off of course :mrgreen:
ooh, and yeah, i don't have a clue what all the z-rated stuff is about, anytime i talk to someone who likes cars about bikes, they always try to tell me my tires are z-rated, so who knows,
Well the mushroom I am speaking of is essentially fused to the inside of the tire as well as in the hole... it really becomes part of the tire and can't be flung out because it's on the inside.
I'd trust it ( and I do..still on the plugged tire..) till I wear the tire out...
My trusted mech swears by them too.....but to each his own.

Put some "Ride On" into the rear. It will seal any slow leaks that might develop and also prevent violent breaking up of the tire in the event of the plug falling out. It will also improve the milage you get out of a tire with no bad consequences.
I spent 1k mile with this stuff in and I love the piece of mind it brings. I keep checking my tire preasure and it keeps being the same for a month now... :thumb:

That's the speed rating. S is the lowest, for 125cc commuters, etc. H is next, then V. Z is the highest, usually only seen on radials, and means something like rated for speeds in excess of 250km/hr or some such thing.
z is essentially for bikes that can go well in excess of the gs's top speed :dunno:
