Title: No front brake pad
Post by: jpw on June 17, 2004, 06:40:33 PM
So me and some friends strolled into a bike shop to see some high performance bikes.

As were  about to leave, a guy comes out and looks at my bike...

Notices the rotor is wearing weird, looks at my brake caliper, and theirs only one pad in it....

Also the seal on the piston in the caliber is out so he could put the piston back into put the cailper back on...

So i had him order a new front brake pads, cailper rebuid kit....  I also ordered a dunlop back tire today....

I hope this is the end of my problems....

Funny you should mention this.

A long time ago, I had a pad come out of the caliper while I was riding.  I used the same method to install the pads as I always have, never had any problem with them before, or since.

Rode sans front brake till I go the the next purveyor of braking products, slipped in a new set and called it good.  Again, no problem with it since.

What pads are you using?

Do you use the same set for front and rear?

I need new pads, browsed these boards and saw Galfer Greens were recommended. Anyone know what size fits the GS? or are all pads a standard size?

Thanks

I ended up using Vesrah Red-Backs, found the SBC were chewing up my rotors.

Nope, different pads for the rear.

No clue, the bikes they fit should be listed on the package somewhere, or, if you order them, specify what bike you have.
