Hey DJGO,

I also have the 95 GS500.  It is my first bike ever and it is perfect!  If you have the opportunity to buy one , DO IT!!  :thumb:

I have dropped mine three or four times at stop signs , came off on a 25 mph curve and the only damage combined was one clutch lever.

Congrats & welcome

welcome DJGO!
Lots of good info here and good folks.

Definitely get some good gear. Check out newenough.com, motoxoutlet.com and a few others for their closeouts, good deals to be had on gear.

make sure the helmet fits properly-I suggest buying it at a dealer so you can try them on (for about 20 minutes min). should fit *too* snug (they break in ).

Good luck.
