I need immediate help!!!

I just drained the gastank refilled it and drained it again.  After I reattached it and properly reattached the hoses I put my new battery in.  The bikes electricals are all working and the engine turns over but wont start.  Also I forgot to mention the switch under the gas tank that controls the fuel flow is definitely on.  So I need to know...

1.)  Is there a way to prime the fuel lines?

2.)  My clutch is now stuck disengaged, is there an easy way to fix this.

Clutch - somehow the tank reinstallation must have moved the clutch cable such that it's completely loose.

Prime - turn the frame mounted petcock clockwise all the way up (years '89-'00).

Do I need to turn the engine over for it to prime?

Also how exactly do I get the clutch to go back?

Nope.

You may have to take the tank back off.  But, before that, can you grab the cable sheath at the handlebar and pull/push on it?  If not, can you see where it's getting pinched?

now I am really perplexed... I  took the tank off and jiggled the cable and its free again... Then I put the tank back on and squeezed the clutch and it stuck again.  Its odd because the cable seems to have plenty of clearence.  Also is it possible that I cant start the bike because its 20 degrees here (note: it was a lot warmer when I stated working )? It sure is fun being completely new to somthing... lol

Has the cable been lubed?  Can you see any of the cable at the lever, and is it rusty?  Um, can you detach the cable from the lever and see if you can pull out just the cable from the sheath to see if it's broken?

Thanks for your help!!! Its all better now... I think most of the trouble was the temperature outside.  The battery was freezing so the bike wouldnt start easily.  The clutch cable was getting squished by one of the fuel lines so I rearranged a little and its all better now.  Thanks again, I really appriciated such a fast response.  These boards are so helpful it just blows me away.
