The great weather is here and I finally got my bike back on the road. Will go for another ride tomorrow to ease myself back into things...but if any local GStwin people wanna meet up for rides, just post and PM me your info. I'm Manhattan's East Village. Also have a sweet roofdeck for a GStwin Summer BBQ should there be demand.

I plan to do a lot of riding all summer.  Cheesy

hey sclegend where do you usually ride for pleasure? almost all my riding is commuting.
have you had any problems with the police lately? my friend and i both got tickets recently from cops that were obviously targeting bikers and we are in no way reckless riders. not even close.

Hello Folks,
GS500E rider here in Queens NY, ride mostly out east on Long Island, or up north to the Bear Mountain area. I know its early to start asking but it would be nice to ride with other GS500 owners in the local area.

dude! it's never too early to set up a meeting Wink
Besides I have been riding through the entire winter Smiley except for the days when the snow was on the ground.

Where are you located more precisely? I am in Maspeth.
Would be great to meet and ride together  Thumbsup

Let me know so we can ride together!

you will not have any problems passing

They will check lights (front+back), horn, turn signals, they may take a GLANCE for apparent leaks, and if they didn't drink too much bear the night before they may take your bike off the center-stand and check the front suspension. If they drank a lot they obviously will not do that - it would be too much hassle for them...

can't wait for spring - commute in cold is fine, but longer rides are just not fun.

I heard about one, but it was two years ago, Supposedly guys were gathering in lower Manhattan every Tuesday night (only summer) to do some stunts, and tricks.

I never went because I don't really like riding in manhattan... It's like asking for trouble  Cheesy

It may be more dangerous riding in Manhattan, but it sure improves your clutch control, balance and fast swerving. I typically drive to work in Midtown around 2 times per week when the weather is nice.
