Basically any shop in Brisbane I don't trust with my bike except Ozzy. On a side note my bar end mirrors rocked up today. Ill need to turn up a couple small spacers and I can re use my stock bar end weights.

I hear ya' guys, I'm not keen on anyone touching my bike at all... was bad enough letting someone else put tyres on it...

However, it's gotta be done and while I know Ozzy will be good, it's just way too far out of the way as I'm stupidly busy at the moment with work. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

If they declare frame damage I'll be taking it somewhere else, there ain't nothin' wrong with it as the plastic rear guard cushioned the impact to all the structural stuff.

I haven't heard good or bad about them so we'll see... if I get my way I'm hoping they can sort out the guard and tail light off the bike and I can see if I can get my stock guard and tail light on to keep riding. It will be ugly but I'll still be mobile...

Just ordered some 145 and 150 mains today so I'm keen to give them a go next too...

Mister...Agreed. It was misery for 3 years. Called it quits after many reconciliations failed.  Sad, but at some point there's no turning back the hands of time to fix things.

+1 on what Yama said.  I just ended 15 year marriage in February.  We tried and tried and after so many years it wasn't even a positive relationship anymore.  Even at that it was difficult to split.  Since then though, I've acquired a new home, re-established loving relationship with 'my' family and gotten a real sense of what I want instead of meandering in a failed marriage and being miserable.  You'll definitely come out of it and see things from a new positive perspective.  Well I did.

Pete,

Go to Ozzy's board and find the story of the guy with the Ducati. They charged him $1,700 for a service. All they did was change the brake fluid on the front. Ozzy's got the pics up online. The air filter wasn't touched and looks like it had become a rat's nest. Other issues too. Not bad for a $1,700 fee. There are others as well. So, now you know in advance. Just be prepared to disregard anything they tell you.

You don't want other people's hands on any of your machines.
However, sometimes situations arise that force us out of the comfort-zone.

I'd get the damage estimated (and repaired) per your contract, and then just inspect & re-do (if necessary) once you get her back home.
You know the deal.
Sorry for your trouble too.

I'm not a happy boy.  :icon_sad:

1.) Its Saturday morning and I have to go to work and do about 6 hours of Hurricane Sandy related paper-work.
2.) My pay goes down while the taxes go up and the politicians continue to live like Kings!
3.) My country & its people have deteriorated into a worthless pack of entitlement-mentality socialists.

Any of this sound familiar?

If I was going to Brissie M'cycles for service work... I wouldn't... then I probably really would go to Ozzy if for some reason I couldn't do it myself.

But this is crash repair, and I'm hopeful that if they'll let me just leave my guard and tail light with them, I can stick my stock ones back on temporarily. That way if they screw it up, I'm still riding. They can't do a worse paint job than I did on the rear guard...

If I can do this, then I'll not bother getting the scratch on the front guard touched up as I can do that myself and I still need to do the one on the other side from before Christmas.

The only other thing is the foot pad on the brake pedal being bent, but that's a 30 second fix...

I have one advantage over a lot of other riders I would think... having rebuilt my bike from the ground up I know exactly what the deal is with every nut and bolt so I will know if they tell me BS...

Now that's an ideas man. Thing is taking a knock from behind you dunno if your frame got tweaked, any bearings got damaged? That's what I've learned about bikes they are much more fragile than you think

BM - I wouldn't let them service a bike, wouldn't let them repair a bike, wouldn't even let them look at a bike cause I don't trust them to not loosen something and then claim it needs Fixing too. Bottom line I do NOT trust them at all.

When I got my GS500 I shopped around. BM was the highest priced and least moving on their price. I spoke to the mechanic who I used at the time and he said "let me get you a price for a GS500". Hey, doesn't hurt to get a price, does it? Well, his price was WAY cheaper than anyone else. So he picked the bike up and let me know when it was ready to collect. As I look over the paperwork I discover it had come from none other than BM.  :o

That's right, the same pricks who would NOT budge on their price.

I'm all for giving discounts to your resellers and the  like, but to not move on a price even $100 when a buyer is in the store? And to start with overinflated prices to begin with? Man, not good for customer service at all.

The one thing I will grant them, however, is that their accessory people upstrairs have always done the right thing by me.

Do let us know what they say. We are curious.

Now this blew my mind you yanks (rich ones) have far too much

My government is made up of "humans"... and these particular humans get to decide what the other 99.99% of us are permitted to own or not own?  What?
Translation: The government uses the richest 1% and the poorest 1% to justify their power-grab and the never ending erosion of our liberties.

Read This: I love rich people. They own factories and corporations that create jobs for all us. Additionally, ultra wealthy Americans are often philanthropists that spend millions of dollars of their own money to help the needy, (unlike the government that only spends "other peoples" money).

I despise the government. The government produces nothing, absolutely nothing. Well, nothing other than weak minded minions to push their propaganda.
