My bikes don't have traction control or ABS. Haven't needed them. If a rider Needs them they are obviously NOT in full control of their machine.

My worth...

When ABS on motorcycles first started appearing several years ago, I was frightened that soon we would be FORCED by government regulations to have it on all bikes.
But now that it's been getting better reviews and showing up on cheaper bikes like the V-Strom & Bandit, I'm thinking I could live with it, especially on the heavier bikes.

BTW: I still hate the government with a passion, but ABS is something I'm warming up to.

Clearly blokes from different eras. I embrace all the modern tech, fuel injection especially. Have yet to own a bike with traction control but the abs is nice to know its there but not rely upon. I kick in my rear abs all the time on purpose which takes a bit of fun out of a skid but meh. Now onto my double blind multi brand fuel test. Bloke still couldn't answer my question. I pissed in my fuel tank now the bike won't start should I dilute it with 95 or 98?

I hang with a group of V-Strom riders that have upgraded to the Yamaha Super Tenere. They tell me the selectable, 3 position traction control is great. Especially when you bring that big V-twin in the soft dirt with a heavy right wrist.  :thumb:

Couldnt have said it better myself.
My one and only off was in 1987 and it was my own fault for thinking my CB250T Superhawk was a superbike and lowsided in a corner from leaning too far over.
My inbuilt ABS couldnt save my ego :dunno_black:

ABS and Traction Control do not replace Good Judgement.

Never need to get close to the skid area of a bike anyway, so no need for ABS even if it came on the bike as standard. Meaning, its presence is negligible.

Learn proper throttle control and smooth gear changes and to read the road better and none of that stuff is needed. Like Pete said "ABS is in my right hand and right foot... traction control in my right wrist and left hand... rear view camera is in my neck... we got born with all these fancy schmancy gadgets built in "

Seems us old timers might know a thing or two... but really, what would we Really know, only been riding for like 30+ years!

There is no ABS, traction control, nor any other fancy schmancy gadgets in this video... except for the camera itself of course...

I may not have 30 years riding experience... but I do have a few more than Slips I would say ;)

Actually there is 1 modern bike in the vid, AussieChick's new Street Triple... sounds good  :thumb:
