Im Really Really Glad Others Are Moding The Gs ,. People Still Look Down On It , I Have No Idea Why , Its Pretty Quick, And Handles Like A Dream ,

Im Loving The Compotion , Its Alot Of Fun ,

I Mean You Have So Many Projects , I Think When Alot Of Them Are Finished , We Will Have Our Lil Gs Build OFF!!

And People Could Vote , And As Custom Bikes Are Reflections Of Sed Person , Yes Jim Would Have Probs Won It With His 8 ball, But saying that, thats in a class of his own ,

Mhmmm Sounds Gd To Me :D

The way I look at it is I couldn't have afforded a new gs or a newer sport bike.  I found a killer deal on this one so I will make it look the way I want for less that $1200.  Sure it won't be super fast, but it will handle great and will be plenty of bike for me for a very long time.

Looks awesome. Question though, how's the monster seat gonna match up with the GS plastics? Cuz it looks sexy..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

The entire rear section will be custom fabricated.  GS plastics will not be used, hell I don't even have GS plastics.  It will look just like the photoshop!

servus,

you can use the swingarm from the 600 bandit with the 4,5" wheel. you can use a 160 tyre.

So I would need the swingarm, wheel, caliper, rotor, torque rod and it would all bolt up?  Does anything have to be fabricated?  Probably won't go that far with this bike, but I am curious.

servus,

you need only the originalparts from the bandit 600 (swingarm, wheel, brake, shock).

you must fabricate 2 bushings like this:

25mm x 14,1 mm x 37 mm

the bushings you need is for the swingarmaxle.

Nice project, looks familiar! I must say, your photoshop skillz are far superior to mine. Any engine mods planned? The wide rear tire is a must, mine looked silly with the 130 on it. The 150/160 fits it much better. I got a katana wheel off ebay for $40. I now have a GSXR swing arm and rear wheel thats planning on going on there. Gotta make some power to turn it though.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks man!  Your bike inspired me to use a ducati monster seat!  I will be taking the bike to have the seat frame fabricated this weekend.  Did you use an OEM seat latch?  I have a new style latch, but my seat has the old style hook.  Do you know where I can get the new style pin rather than wait for one to come from Italy!

For now the engine will be stock except for a k&n lunchbox and carb rejet.  I am thinking about putting 79mm pistons in for some extra kick!  That all depends on cash flow once the frame and suspension is finished.

Hey, i used nutserts in the S2R seat and it mounts to the subframe rail. There is no reason to quick release the seat as there is nothing under it. Two 10mm bolts remove it.

I decided on the exhaust just today. Sato R6 GP slip on with stainless headers i bent up. I put the Sato on an R6 yesturday and loved it. I am a bit affraid of what it will sound like though. I will be playing with baffles in the collector to try to get it right. Other than that the bike has bee at a stand still. I sold my 636 front end to a customer and have been for too busy to spend any quality time on it. Runs and rides great now though with the 150 and Gsxr shock. My Pistons should be here in a couple weeks so thats when the next mod session is planned.

have fun.

Dude.. you've got me seriously considering that monster seat. Did you buy a new one, or get it off ebay? If I can get the seat for fairly cheap.. what should I expect to pay a shop to make a custom frame?

I really like the look of that bike. (in the first pics) Stripped down lil badass streetfighter gs... absolutely love it, really outclasses most other configurations.

cant wait to see what it looks like when you're done... Props on all your hard work and attention to detail... that is admirable!

Im lazy.

Some progress.  Stripped and painted the swingarm.

I am waiting for new engine case bolts so I can reassemble the engine.  Next week the frame goes the the fabricator to make the seat frame.  Then the frame gets painted and the front end gets rebuilt.

Nikolas

Are you using real auto paint or rattle-can?  My GS is currently in a similar state to the first couple pics.  Right now I'm thinking I'll just pull the dents from the tank, scuff it up and spray everything with rustoleum semi-gloss black (from a gun) rather than use up the $50/quart ppg stuff left over from my car.

I love the seat idea, I'm working on something similar using the stock seat.  I hate it when the tail sticks out past the rear tire.

Actually it is aluminum color high heat engine paint!  It works great!!

The Buddha

I painted my swingarm with POR 15 hardnose. By hand. It looks like sheite ...
Tommorow, I sand and spray ... evidently hardnose is super hard ... I'll know tommorow just how hard. Air tools baby ... lets see if it will stand up to wire brush fitting on air tool.
Cool.

I use engine paint on all my parts except the boby it lays thick and hard.

cosmiccharlie

I bolted the swingarm on so I can take the bike to have the seat frame fabricated, so I took a couple of pics!

  So I broke ANOTHER engine case bolt!!!!  This will be the third!  And the third time I have to pull the cases apart and extract a bolt!!

I was torqueing the last bolt and it snapped!!  I guess this engine is cursed!!  Can i run without number 12 case bolt or will it leak like crazy?
