So after months of my Fiance's GS being torn apart I was finally able to get it all back together.  I still need to find a seat to put on it and do a few other things, but it's running like a champ now.

Things done....
Cut the frame
K&N Lunchbox filter
Rejetted
Shorty Exhaust
Katana Rear wheel with 160 tire
Drag Bars
Painted the Frame Gloss Black

I'm pretty sure that's everything we did to it, she loves it and can't wait to get a seat made so she can get it back out on the road, any opinions are welcome whether its good or bad, i built it for to her liking so even if you hate on it it's ok LOL

This is how it looked before teardown.

And then the final product, the fender isn't bolted on yet, she said she wanted to go without it, but I was able to convince her it would be a good idea to put it back on. Oh and ignore the garage still trying to put Christmas crap away...

This picture was to see if we liked the factory seat on, I am on the fence, part of me likes it but part of me wants to put a cafe racer seat on it.

If it were me man, I would extend the frame out and put a longer cafe style seat on it. That would look nice!

I dont disagree with you chopping the frame all to hell though, cause I never liked the pre 01 gs tail either! Haha.

Excited to see where you go from here.

Yeah lose that stock seat. I took mine apart and am actually using some of the original seat foam in my new seat. Just building a pan with fiberglass cloth..

you can very easily modify the stock seat to fit that build, just get the staples in the back out, cut of the seat until 1 inch before the dip, smooth overer the plastic edge, stretch leather back over, staple, trim, done.

really like the old (smaller) tank on this build btw  :thumb:

Well after hearing your guys opinion the cafe seat is on its way!

Also got the torsion bar for the rear brake and the exhaust off to my fabricator.  Hoping to have it ride-able by this weekend.

Wow that is going to look good!! :) Cant wait to see this. What color are you thinking? Try and match the blue or just go black?

Gonna start with black to see how we like it, but maybe end up blue.  Not sure yet

Well we got the seat in the mail yesterday, she didnt like the way it looked on her bike so i am going to put it on mine.  Did get the handlebars on and she insisted on knowing how fast she was going so I had to put the stock gauges back on until I can find something else.  I hate them and think it makes the front of the bike look horrible.  Anyways on to the pictures....

Also took it for a ride around the block.  I love the way the bigger 160 tire looks compared to the 130.  And boy does the filter and jets make a huge difference.  Only problem is at low idle it really bogs down almost like its getting to much fuel but once its above 3000 it screams.

And heres a preview of how the new seat is gonna look on my bike.

First off, double post my good sir. Secondly what is that an older gsxr750?? That seat is gunna look absolutely sick on your bike dude. painted white with maybe some blood splatter on it. That would be so sick.

Yeah my computer messed up and double posted it. I couldn't figure out how to delete one of them. My bike is a 2000 R1. And the hand and blood splatter you see is from the old paint job that I did for Halloween. Gonna get rid of all the plastics and cover the tank with carbon fiber wrap. Heres is a picture of it before I started tearing it down

jacob92icu

Oh very nice! That will look pretty slick! lol. Should post updates with that as you go with the GS as well :)
