New to forum, trying to gauge the interest in the design and manufacture of a full exhaust system for the GS500. We design and build with Hindle Exhaust in Canada and I already have a fair range of Stainless Steel systems available for Vintage Japanese bikes. The system would be performance oriented of course, 2-1 with merge collector and stepped size increases. Take a look at the website ripplerockracers.com to see the other models we are currently making. I think it might be a fun project and I may have access to a late model GS500 with full fairing and oil cooler so that design would fit all variants from 1989-2013.

I already have a full SS Jardine system on my GS500F, so I wouldn't have too much interest unless you can make one that is lighter and as quiet as stock. The quieter the better. I don't like how loud my Jardine is even with the quiet insert. Had to take off the Vance & Hines I had before that because it was so loud and the pitch was terrible (sounded like an angry lawnmower).

I'm sure there is some market since all the big names seem to have abandoned the GS500. Vance and Hines, Yoshimura, Jardine, and some others all used to make exhausts for the GS500 but I don't think any of them are in production anymore. The only one I know of that you can buy new is Delkevic.

I might be more interested in an exhaust for my 1980 Suzuki GS1000G or 1984 Honda XL600r, since on both bikes I fear damaging the irreplaceable stock pipes and nobody makes a good aftermarket option anymore, but I would again want something pretty quiet and as close to OEM look as possible because I actually like the OEM pipes on both those bikes. A lightweight black ceracoat exhaust for the XL600R would be awesome.

Thanks for the response. Actually I do make a system for your 1980 GS1000

As for the GS500, we would be making a superlight exhaust and Cerakote Black is an option we provide on all of our systems. For noise suppression we have db killers that are removable as well as different muffler lengths 14",16",18".

Do the different muffler materials have different sounds? I had a carbon fiber Wileyco bolt on can on my GS500F a long time ago that had the best deep rumble but was also pretty quiet. Unfortunately I crashed and destroyed that muffler. I've never been able to replicate it with anything else available for the GS500. Still miss it.

Personally, I probably wouldn't buy it as I'm kinda cheap.

However, I want to say you guys are awesome for making vintage bike parts!

I love older bikes and it's great to see companies like yours keeping interest in these machines alive.

If my bike budget increases, I'll keep y'all in mind!
