bob

Hee,hee, you guys are hilarious.
I'm bob (hence the nickname: "bob").
I'm 45, married with two daughters, ages 5 & 2.
I was born in California, grew up in Cali & Nevada & moved to Michigan for work about 15 years ago.
I'm a mechanical engineer & I work in engine development for a powetrain consulting company.  We do the design & development of new engines that you will see in new cars & trucks in the future.
I've been riding for about 30 years & building engines & bikes for about the same amount of time.
I once built an RD350 (Yamaha 2-stroke) that made about zero horsepower until about 500 rpm shy of the redline & then it suddenly made about a million horsepower for an eyeblink.  Great fun.
I've built several GS500 motors including a 555 that made about 60 hp & ran great (I shoulda never sold it) & a 642 that made over 70 hp but which had a copper head gasket & I could never get it to stop leaking oil.  That engine will come back someday as a 555 or 570.
There are few pictures of me out there & only one that I know of on the web & it just shows me washing the mud & grass off my (former) GSXR600 at Grattan raceway after pitching the thing off into the weeds one race day.
Maybe once I get the GS back to where it will move under its own power I'll get some pics posted.

Hey, I just remembered where there's a pic or two of me.  They're kinda old, but at this age I don't change much from year to year!  The Gixxer is gone, replaced by an R6.  I still have the GS, which by the way I've had since '93 - it's an '89 model, somewhat modified.  Was a racebike when I bought it & it's still a racebike.
Here's a pic or two:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rider52bob/wsnE340.html  I'm #710, white Gixxer600.
http://home.earthlink.net/~rider52bob/wsnBF52.html  In this pic I'm washing my bike after crashing in the muddy grass.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

I'm a 21 y/old male, confused in race (Black/White) down in Arlington TX. Currently dragging through college and checking sluts and lowlifes into rooms at the local hotel.  :bs:  But hey, it pays the bills and feeds the GS gas with enough for the Saturday night ale
I suppose some smart ass comment about a toaster and an etch-a-sketch is in order...but I'm not in the mood.

Linh

Hi there.  I'm Linh (pronounced Lynn).  Not LYNN-HUH. ;-)

I'm 27, live in San Diego (good riding weather!) with hubby (Ken) and two doggies (Norwegian Elkhounds).  I work full time as an office manager and in my spare time I like doing crafty things.  I make my own handmade soaps and candles for fun, and also as a little side business.

Ken has always wanted to ride and finally got a motorcycle in Aug 2000.  He LOVES it.  He has a Kawasaki Vulcan 750.  I was not satisfied just being a passenger so I got my own bike in Oct 2000.  I got a Suzuki Savage 650.  I had my permit and rode about 600 miles on that.  We discovered some problems with the bike and I didn't want to invest a lot of money to fix it.  One of my coworkers had been drooling over the bike since I got it so when he offered to buy it for the same price I paid I said ok.  I was bikeless until a few weeks ago.  My brother who rides knew someone, who knew someone else who was selling her Suzuki GS500 that she NEVER rode.  It's a '96 and we got it pretty cheap ($900!).  It needed new tires and still needs some very minor work which my brother is doing for me.  I did enjoy riding the cruiser style bike and this one is obviously different.  It was weird having the foot controls BELOW me!  I've barely ridden it so I'm anxious to see how I'll like it once I get more miles under my belt.

I don't have my actual license yet.  I'm finally taking the MSF course now so I'll get it soon!

I've been lurking here but you all seem like nice, helpful people.  I look forward to learning more about this bike.

Old Mr. Wilson

Hi Ladies and Gentleman,
My name is Wilson. I will have been on the planet for 49 years this August. I do not get to ride my GS500 as much as I'd like but when I do I love it. It is 3 years 2 mo. old and has 1160 miles on it. Yes, that's correct!
I am a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant male Southerner who is anti-communist, anti-socialist. My family and I enjoy camping, swimming, crabbing, and shooting (guns). I also enjoy growing and eating tomatoes. Wilson has been with the same woman for over 28 years (married 23 of them). We have two children, a 20 year old young lady and an 11 year old son.
It is nice to meet y'all.  Couldn't figure out how to insert image..... oh well..............

Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???

Laura

Hi. I've only been riding a few weeks. I'm 29 and live in Madison, Wisconsin. I have a wonderfully goofy Australian Cattle Dog. I am a student and graphic designer, and I enjoy rock climbing, reading, photography, traveling, good food, movies, red wine, and whiskey. Yum.

I didn't know how to put a photo here, so I put one up in the mug shot section of the Wall of Fame.

Here ya go Laura [edited my moderator]

Seth

I'm a 23 year old white guy currently looking for a job and trying finish up a masters in MIS at the mighty University of Texas at El Paso.  The GS500 was my first bike and it is now the first bike of fellow board member chevysolid.  My second bike was a 2001 Honda cbr600 F4i and I recently sold it as well in search or more power.  My next bike will be either a cbr954rr or a new GSXR 1000.  I am currently single and I'm always looking for the future Mrs. James.  I enjoy fine wines, home theater (as in loud speakers not Hamlet), and anything related to computers.
Must go faster!

*why bother stereotyping?  There are plenty of reasons to dislike folks on an individual basis.*
