Hi All,
I'm in the market for some Fall/Winter gloves and don't want to spend a ton of money. I don't ride in the rain and my hands seem to get cold in anything under 60 degrees with my thin summer gloves. I also probably won't ride in anything much colder than 50 degrees (kind of a wuss). I'm considering the following:
Gericke Eco Gore-Tex or Urban Leather-Tex
Joe Rocket Ballistic 5.0, Comet, Hard Drive, Nitrogen, or Rush
Technic Lightning
Does anyone have any experience or comments on these? Does anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations? I'm looking to keep it under $50-60.

Ok well ill speak from experience on the teknic gloves. They are excellent protection wise, and comfort wise, but if i could do it all over again knowing winter was comming up i would. After a nice long ride to work and or home, the only thing on me thats cold is my hands. They dont offer very much in the way of warmth. Perfect summer gloves but not for winter. SO i would stay away from Teknic (lightning) for winter.
I am also interested in some gloves for cold weather riding, My 2 pair of Joe Rocket gloves jsut dont cut it
I have a pair of Teknic Violators. They look pretty similar to the Lightnings. I got them on sale from Cycle Gear last spring for around $50. The last time I was there they had a few pairs left. I haven't done very much long riding in them this fall, just a few hours at Angeles Crest but so far they've kept my hands nice and toasty.
I rode all last winter here in So/Central Cali, 2 hrs to work in the morning (usually before sun-up which means air temp is mid 40's), and I wore some undergloves...ie, light cotton/poly gloves under my regular riding gloves. When it got really cold, I'd just wear some thick insulated winter/snowmobile gloves, but they would get thrashed quick in a crash...
Could always mount up some handguards ala motocrossers...There are quite a few colors of Acerbis plastic ones, and I think they look pretty sweet...
If the gloves that you are now wearing are windproof, you can use glove liners to keep your hands warmer. Available through any internet bicycle dealer, such as http://www.performancebike.com or http://www.nashbar.com or http://www.supergo.com.

I just got some J.R. Rush gloves... (on sale http://www.newenough.com/joe_rocket_rush_gloves_page.htm )
These are almost too warm for 50 degree temps even though they are considered "lightly" insulated.
I have Gericke Eco Gore-Tex gloves. They do a good job keeping my hands dry under heavy rain, but not as good for keeping them warm. They are waterproof but they don't have any insulation. I need to wear fleece glove liners.
I have Joe Rocket gloves that I got for summer. For winter, I have liners that fit under them. They work OK... but I might be picking up a commuter that has heated grips tomorrow. Yeah, it's more complexity - but on the test drives, they've been really dang nice.
