Now, for everyone who thinks this is stupid and a waste of time, you have no imagination.
A turbo 180sx just went past my place and made that lovely sound "Woooooossshhhsssshhsssshssshhhhsss"
I thought about what my bike would sound like with that, sure would be a real head turner.... Now i know that you need a turbo to have a BOV but I was just wondering if there is another way around to have a BOV without a turbo. If a turbo is a MUST i do have a spare sitting in my garage which came off my VW Beetle. Yes i have read over the previous threads on this topic but having a bike with that noise is just too good to pass up.
Any ideas on this topic, is it possible to get that "Woooooossshhhsssshhsssshssshhhhsss" noise from my gs?
Reap
Eat a can full of beans before each ride. :D
Lol, could work if you fart into a microphone.....
But seriously.... ideas? :icon_idea:
put a flapper on the exhaust (like big rigs) and drill a small hole in it. then it would shshsshhshhssh wooosh anyway. get people to listen backwards ;)
there are two known gs500's that have been turbo'd. search the forum for "ice turbo" or.. i forgot the other
two options
http://www.turbowhistler.net/blow-off-valve/index.htm
or the blow off valve speaker which i can't find a link for right now.
I think you need whistle tips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVJTJpfknSc
Haha, the fake turbo noise from http://www.turbowhistler.net/blow-off-valve/index.htm is pretty funny but makes the cars sound like there is something wrong with the engine. Still looking.....
Thats such a joke. *all your friends will wonder what u have under the hood* .. not quite..
All those things suck ass. They have blow-off valves for non turbo cars I forget how they run and work but they sounded good, let me find it
just put a turbo on it
ditto...turbo it...I'd like to see another one...
If you just want the sound, just weld the turbo inline with your stock exhaust and vent it to the atmosphere... You'd get that wicked sound without all the hassles of reworking your intake system only to melt your valves...
So far the best idea is from mach1, if you could find that BOV that works without a turbo that would be grand :D
A BOV for a non-turbo car? How can that work? BOV needs positive manifold pressure to open the diaphram (SP?) to vent, and a non-turbo car will never hit positive manifold pressures?!
Thanks,
Nick

I'm imagining a parallel-twin sewing machine with a faux blow-off sound rather vividly. :icon_lol:

You could add an air tank to bike and just vent that every time you rolled off the throttle...

either pressure sensor reads vacuum when you close the throttle or you have to cut into a tps or something to read a change in resistance and that triggers some electronics that plays the "Woosh" sound through a speaker you mount somewhere. neat eh?
sorry but speaking as a guy who will never own a non-turbocharged car, I hate that there is a device to fake the fact that you sound like your turbocharged!
The sound will not make you faster, either will altezza's, or lowering your car with a big fart can and nothing else!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Show, no go: BLOWS
the non turbo blow off valves from what i read is just a releave valve that runs off the exhaust and is connected to the tps sensor. it has a check valve to let exhaust air in but not out and it will hold pressure and when you layoff the throttle it will open forcing the air out giving you that sound. I not 100% sure how it works but that is what i remember
However it works its still retarded.

But will it help you get the TPS reports in on time?

Lamest idea, ever.
do it for real:

MPFab Turbo WR250x
if theres a turbo that can be spun by a 250cc motard, theres one you can hack to your GS, and the K03 from a VW might even be small enough...
Well why not twin turbos then? Take the setup from that WR250 and put one turbo on each header pipe
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Yeah, baby! The only twin-turboed GS500 !

Not right now, Lumbergh, I'm kinda busy. In fact, look, I'm gonna have to ask you to just go ahead and come back another time. I got a meeting with the Bobs in a couple of minutes.
Lmao that movie kicked so much ass!
