Ordering Parts

I have been having some fun ordering parts, and I am wondering how common stuff like this is.

I ordered parts last week from the dealer (engine bearings, piston rings etc.). I wanted to start reassembling my engine last weekend and I decided it was worth paying for shipping on top of dealar prices to get the parts in time (it has been about a month and a half since my bike broke, can you blame me for wanting to get it done?)

The parts were supposed to come in on friday. I didn't recieve a call from the dealer by 3, so I called and they told me that the warehouse screwed up and the parts hadn't even shipped yet. They told me that I wouldn't be charged for overnight shipping and the parts would be in on monday.

I didn't get a call this morning, so I called the dealar again about 1:30. Most of my parts came in, but the warehouse didn't send one of my piston ring sets. Again, I have been told that it was ordered and will be sent next day air (free of charge).

I don't really care about the last part since I only have time to work on my bike on weekends so it doesn't set me back any, but I am a little concerned about this whole process. The guy at the delarship has been pretty nice about this, and says that he has been chewing out the people at the warehouse. Still, the whole point of this was to get parts quickly and I'm getting them about the same time that I would have gotten them had I ordered them online. I'm just paying more.

Someday I'll learn just to stay away from dealers. These are the same people that told me to bring my bike in to be looked at when I first started to have problems. I brought it there only to be told that they wouldn't even touch my bike becuase it was too old. (The only reason that I ordered from them is that the dealer I like wouldn't answer the phone and the third was kinda rude when I asked about having my bike looked at.)

but I'm not sure this is the dealership's fault. It sounds like the regional warehouse is screwing me over. But thats just what I have been told.

of course it's the wharehouse. duhh, the parts guy probably didn't even place the order untill you called the second time.  that's the way they are.  if they didn't sell you the bike ten minutes ago they couldn't care less about you.
