I found a thread on the Motorcycle Consumer News forum concerning the recent GS500F and Ninja 500 comparo test and the radial tire question as well as a few other questions.  Made a few posts there myself on the subject if anyone is interested.      :thumb:  Don't worry, I was nice and tried not to reflect badly on gstwins.

Got replies from Fred Rau, the well known Senior Editor of MCN who took part in the test.

Nice, gettin' the comparo all straightened out!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

Was gonna respond Jack, but it won't let me register!!

GSJack made me curious enough to take a trip over here. I've got another dyno sheet on a '93 that makes 45 hp with K&N filters, stage 3 dynojet kit, full V&H exhaust, and ignition advance. Motor has about 20,000 miles on it. Decked and bored GS500 race motors make numbers in the mid-50's, so I'd say you were pretty lucky to put 49 horses to the wheel!
