89bars setup on my 2004 gs

Does anyone know if the 89bar setup will swap over to a 2004 gs without any problems. Has anyone tried riding with these bars...is it better, worse? I love my 2004 gs...but i hate the look of the bars...looks like my bicycle. Or are there aftermarket bars that will work?

Nope wont fit... will hit the tank...
The damn 89 bars are very very close to the 89's tank which is thinner than the 01 type tank... other than that... you could probably put some material on the steering stops to make it turn less.

Try the Suburban-Machinery.com handlebars (the sv650 model fits the gs500). I had these on my 01 gs500 and they are far better. They mimick the clip on position.

you can try the SM bars that pablo sugested or you can get clip-ons

those bars seem pretty pricey. Are there any others that make a similar sytle bar? Otherwise clipons would seem like a better choice.

Werase has suggested Pro flo's... 115 for true clip ons... Of course your fellow canadian Gru made some a few months ago... can we get an amen for Gru clip on's...  :lol:

so do you know if the pro flo clip ons accept the bar end weights? Do i have to do any mods to for that?
