Hey all, love this forum.  I have a couple of questions for you gurus:

1. I hear a buzzing when I grab the front brake it seems to be commesurate with road speed, is this normal?

2. My seat is completely slippery, what can I do to fix that.  I slode backward on accel and forward on decell

3. Any tips on how to change out my Tach cable, it stopped working.

Other than that, I love my GS!!

The buzzing is normal - it's caused by the cooling holes in the rotor.

Somebody used armorall on the seat?  Certainly possible.  Try scrubbing the crap out of it with a rag with some WD40 THEN really scrub the crap out of it with nice soapy water.  That should remove the silicone and then remove the oil.  (others may not agree with me about this).

The tach cable may simply have come out of it's socket in the motor. Follow the cable to where it connects and check it.  Replacement only requires a pair of pliers.  A do-it-yourself for sure.

Does it seem non-slippery to the touch, but slippery when you're riding?  If so, and you're wearing textile pants, one thing you can do is switch to leather; they stick to the seat, and let you grip the tank much better.  Otherwise, there is spray-on stuff at camping stores to make plastic a bit tacky, I think to keep your sleeping bag from sliding off the mattress pad.
