upgraded headlight bulb

..hi all, just wondered if there are any brighter headlight bulbs out there??..main beam is plenty but on dip, riding during the day(safety)..the light cast is rubbish..dim compared to friends various bikes ..just wondered if any of u lot had changed your headlamp bulb for a better one :dunno:

Sylvania silver star series bulbs are really good.  I have them in my bikes and cars, worth the $.  I can't remember the bulb # for the GS, just pull yours and match it up at the store.

I just bought the H4 for my GS :dunno:

very clear, white light.  no poser blue light.  excellent in rain and fog too

The SilverStar was a great upgrade....the H4ST is the part number or you can also use a 9003 bulb...which would be 9003ST

Another vote for the outstanding Silverstar bulb.  100% better than stock.

I think I heard somewhere the Sylvania goes by a different name outside of the US.  Osram maybe?

actually the company is called Osram Silvania..

so its probably known as Osram. I know in Europe, philips makes one similar to the silverstar.

You can order brighter 90/100 bulbs from Lockhart Phillips online.  I did and it was quite a bit brighter.

i just put in piaa's hyper plasma or something like that... it's blinding....

Rewire the headlamp - it made the most difference for me! If you only install higher wattage bulbs it wont do much good, cause stock wires are not strong enough.

You just need two relays, a couple of meters of thick(er) wire and a H4 connector.
