I guess I couldn't avoid the eventual drop of my bike. But, man, to have my gf's sis back into it and tip it over... :x  :x  :x
Luckily, my forks were locked, and she tipped it over on the left side, so the weight of the bike was on the sidestand and the handlebars...which are stockers, and are either bent, or just shifted to a wierd angle. I can't beleive I got out of this without major damage..no tank dents, or even scratches. But the handlebars I'm concerned about...this definitely loosened them...I'm thinking this may be a good time to order the S-M Type 2's.... :mrgreen:
Luckily, I really like my gf so I kinda just had to grin and bear it, but all things considered, it could have been a lot worse...other side coulda taken out the tank, aftermarket exhaust, etc.
i think from now on I'm going to park in FRONT of her car...

Maybe her sister can get you some new handlebars.  Be glad you weren't on the bike when she hit it.  That could cause some relationship wierdness.

That would be the right thing to do.    Maybe suggest to sister or girlfriend - be cool about it (you might need some time to kill), but laugh at it a little and suggest that you have no problem fixing the damage, and maybe she could spring for a new set of bars?

I never park behind a vehicle if I can avoid it.  When I go to the track, I park next to a tree or a tent leg or something visibile that people would be looking out for.

well, here's the good part...my gf's dad rides too...a SWEET Harley...so, he's REALLY concerned, wanting to make sure the slightest blemish is taken care of....speaking of, an update...upon closer inspection in the light today, I see that the drop cracked the speedo housing, and bent the silver frame that holds the tach/speedo gauges.. :x  
I was trying to be nice, and hope that it was just the bars...but, this is gonna get a little more labor intensive and costly...glad the dad is backing her up (especially seeing as shes 25 and married-the sis i mean). I'm gonna get on Bike Bandit and look up the parts, then probably toss a shout onto the wanted section here.

The housing is separately available and probably the top plate as well. The housing is $33 at Parts depot, If you need one, I have a top plate powder coated black, will go well with my powder coated black bars, and hell I even will powder coat top triples and the handlebar block so its all black... looks nice really.

you could always "politely" threaten that you will have to have a police report done if the damage is too great to pay for out of pocket. You know, let her know that you may require insurance from her to 'help' out.  

that should get her butt thinking about what she can do to help you get new parts fast!
