CSXR 650 (8 Valve GS500 Big Bore) To Sell Or Not To Sell?

My trusty steed is a garage ornament now. Keep it or sell it, that's the question.  She's the baddest GS around, still competetive with SV's, you may have seen her in Sport Rider, all 650cc eight valve 325pounds of her.
I would consider selling her if I knew it was to the right person.  I wouldn't think of it but my new girlfriend weighs alot less and I'll never go back.  If I did do it, what would somebody pay?   You would have to have mechanical skills to seduce her and make her behave.  More likely than not I'll just keep her in the garage and write her off as a decade long fling.
What do you do with your retired loved ones?

There are quite a few folks on this board that would love to have that bike. It's hard to determine how much something like that is worth because it is truly unique.

Heck, I may be willing to purchase it (eventually) as an ornament and as an occasional track toy.

If Bob Broussard doesn't reply, you may want to send him a PM. He's done a GSXR head conversion once and he lives on the West Coast so shipping may be easier.

Thanks for stopping in

Wow he does exist... I thought you were a product of some very fertile imagination man...
BTW This friend of mine called Gregory Latendresse (from spokane WA) told me about it like 6-8 years ago... you were then breaking cranks with a 680 cc, then went to 580 cc and the cranks stopped breaking, then you had ferrari 310B ?? F1 pistons in it for the 650 ... is that true or ...
Cool.

Cedric,
You would not believe how many people on this list printed that article and analyzed every single word, photo-shopped the pictures for details, then hung the pictures on the garage wall as inspiration to carry the torch..  Well, ok, that's what I did anyway.

Sorry, but I would have NO IDEA what a fair offer would be.  Ol' girls tend to be a little sentimentally priced.  I wouldn't want to offend you with what I could offer on my "married with children" budget.

:o

didja bring the blue prints and step by step instructions for building this GS of the gods? :dunno:

Teach us so that we might march forth to to hand out foot printed buttocks to those whom would laugh or call the GS Cute.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

I think I broke 10 stock cranks before I shelled out $1800 to get a billet one made with larger journals all the way through.  That one has been in it for 5 years now with no problems at all.  It now uses off the shelf GSXR1100 rods and main bearings.  Yeah I tried the trick lamborghini pistons (twice) and made about 2 laps on them each time.  Off the shelf Cosworth is indestructable.  I had special Carrillo rods made for the lambo pistons and now, four laps later, they are a $400 toiletpaper holder in my bathroom.  Sometimes production racing looks good! ... Nah.

bcutrufelli

that is real sweet i can't believe you would sell that If I did that it would saty with me forever.  Do you still have the busa powered 750 that was mentioned

I have a modded race GS, and every chance I get I marvel at Bobbys bike, I'd love to own yours but it's too nicely built, I'm also scared of the price you might ask. 2 out of 12 of us race GS500s here (AFM ex500 dominant) and one guy just upped the ante to an AND frame, I'd love to see this bike on paper so that I might benifit from your ideas.

Thanks Sonny

Heya Cedric, got any pics of your new fling?  If your last one was a "10", I want to see what an "11" looks like.
