I was just wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on selling my GS500.

I'm interested in selling it next spring. It's a black 2004 GS500F soon to be in nearly mint condition with just over 9000km. I have no idea how to find out how much it's worth (preferably in $CDN) or the best way to sell it. Should I offer it as a trade in on a new bike, get the dealership to sell it, post it in Bargain Finder magazines, the Internet....?
Btw, I'd sell it anytime, really, I just assume I'd get more for it in the spring.

Thanks for your feedback.

put it in the autotrader. Alberta has it just like manitoba does. Well, its called biketrader for bikes, but you know what i mean.

Thanks, is that usually the best way to go?
Also does anyone know how I can find out the value of my bike?

There are sites like kbb.com that give you a blue book value, but those are US-centric. There may be an equivalent in Canada. You could also check sites like cycletrader.com and see what other people are selling bikes in similar condition for.

Are you upgrading to a 600/1000 or switching over to a Harley?

I would have to say yes as to the best way to sell it in canada. Not only do they put it in the magazine, but they also put it online for free for ya. www.canadatrader.com. Its a awsome website. And its better money spent then to put it in the newspaper because how many young ppl read the paper, i do, but lots dont. If they want a bike, first place theyll go look is in the trader. Trust me on that one.

unless you absolutely don't want to deal with the hassle of selling it yourself, don't trade it in to a dealership.  no dealer will ever give you retail price for a vehicle.  when I sell my gs next spring it'll go on here first, if nobody bites it'll go in the cycle trader...

Too bad you are in canada.  I'm in the market for a GS500F.  But I'm in the US and have no idea how hard it would be to get it registered in the US.

sure fire way, put a picture of a hot woman holding a for sale sign.

It seems to work on ebay.

Hey, I might be selling mine... I am moving to Cali and if I have any problems with emission, I would be selling it. It is GS500F with 750 miles, gently ridden. Did the 600-mile service. Properly broken-in. It is blue with no scratches on it. I bought it in September.

I hope to get a 2005 R6.  :)

Thanks for the tips guys. Anyone know how I can find out the value or what I should ask for for my bike (in $CDN)?
