Got up this morning at 8:30. Not nice on a Saturday, but I had to get my bike to the garage for it's MOT. (do you have MOTs in the USA?)
Anyway I go out and the bike has a flat. There is a 3/4 inch roofing nail in the tire.
So I get out a bottle of Slime tire sealant and eventually it blocks the leak.
About midday I was fairly happy that the tire would last long enough to get me to the garage and I could get the, to fit a nice new tire for me at the same time as the MOT.

The Sodding garage closes at midday.  Arsebuckets.
So it looks like an early rise on Monday morning and I'll still be late for work.

Hope things will go better!

What's a MOT?
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

I gather that it's a safety inspection, only a bit more intense than the ones we undergo in the US.  From the Haynes manual, which has a 4-page section dedicated to getting ready for it:

Yup, the dreaded, M.O.T. test (Ministry Of Transport) started out in the late 50s-early 60s as a check of brakes/Lights/Steering on all vecs over 10 years old, the ten has become three and the range has expanded slightly and noew includes corrosion which is the killer amongst other things.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??
