Is anyone familiar wth the Yamaha Seca II?  I am thinking about picking up a used one as they are pretty cheap.  The red ones look pretty cool as do the bllack ones.  Anyway, how does it compare with the GS?  I'm not looking at it as a second bike in terms of "stepping up" but more as just a second bike.

they're good beginner 600 bikes. budget components like the gs though but good all around bikes. try beginnerbikes.com for some info on them. They're called Diversions in UK (and possibly other parts of EU).

When I was looking to buy my first bike I was looking at Seca IIs, Ninja 500s and GS500s. The Seca was my first choice (but I got a great deal on a GS500). From everything I read they're good bikes, and also good beginner bikes. They're not as powerful as other 600s, though.
