Stock honda CBR can ... and you paid $65 ... Heck I have that Lee's performance place 2-3 miles away that has a good 20-30 hanging over the wall ... I can steal some ... and guess what ... that effort in driving up there and going to the wall in this cold weather ... yea not worth it ... Stock crap is worthless ...

I am making the adapter plate to fit the Wileyco cans.  They are just too good of a deal to pass up.  Cbr900.  So, here's the deal: if you buy any other cans it's up to you to make them fit on the headers.  That's a little bit of a chore.  Reason is, the adapter plate will be made of stainless steel.  Drilling through stainless is always a task, no two ways about it.  Hafta drill slow with lots of pressure and lots of lube.  Otherwise I will just send them to you and you can deal with them however.

I havn't much to say for the progress of the headers.  Neither shop with a mandrel bender has called me back yet...but it is the weekend...I dedicated it to getting my bike running...

quinnbozz

:thumb: sounds good,  hoping for some more good news, hopfuly a shop will get back to ya soon

luckaly at school there's a CNC machining [(corse)?] {icant spell}  :(
maby i can get them done that way,  if i feel it will be worth it, or i may put these back up on ebay and go with the wileyco can guess i'll just haft to wait and see

so if i go with what your desining it for and get the wileyco cans it would just be a (put toghther and be done job) right?

how much for standard steel dual header no cans?
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

Dom

The materials for the stainless will coat around $60.  I havn't priced the steel yet but it is the labor that will be the large part of the expenditure.  Materials for steel should be roughly 1/3 of the price of stainless...maybe even less, but definitely not more.

...

Yea... why you think I used steel ... OK OK My welder showed me these and they looked nice ... and so I did ... and what is harder is milling the counter sink holes ... The Mofo stainless ...total Buddha Loves You ... To quote my welder after I broke his tap handle trying to tap a stainless 3/8th rod ... "Buy bolts you Pecker head" ... ok so he was mad I broke his tap... OK. I still like stainless ... just for some applications ...its damn nead impossible to work with ... heck I'll take titanium over that...
Cool.

I don't think I will countersink the holes, just provide some pan head allen bolts...No real reason to countersink the holes that I can think of.

Nope.  I guess there aren't any people with CNC mandrel benders in the area that want to do a small job, all too busy with their stupid Boeing and Lockheed Martin jobs I guess...maybe I'll put some thought into it after Xmas...I'm spending alot of my time making presents right now.  Plus I'm a little broke, so I can't invest in buying the bender dies right now.

The Buddha

My little podunk town has someone that has a mandrel bender ...
In the scrap yard I was looking for a 1.88 inch dogleg pipe, and guess what I ran into a large lot of elbows ... SS pipe elbows in every conceivable dia ... 1.6, 1.65. 1.70. 1.75. 1.80. 1.85. 1.90 ... heck they had some inbetween ... and they were all smooth bends ... the diamater of the pipe in the bend was the same all the way across ... Heck I bet there is a dozen hidden in just that Jackass Chip Gnassi's shop that he wont let us use      :x  :x ... Which BTW is in Mooresville NC, as well as a dozen other Nascrap places around here ...
Cool.

I know that you can buy pre-bent SS elbows out of hot rod magazines... proly wouldn't be a bad way to go...helluva lot cheaper, that's fo sho... but  I was actually really impressed by that JetHot hi heat powdercoat stuff.  www.jet-hot.com Looks pretty damn good....good enough for government work... they look chromed...

I might just make some out of steel and have them coated in Jet Hot... and you can even get them in different colors like Ford Blue :thumb:  I drive a Ford, and have always wanted to get one of those stickers of Calvin peeing on a Ford symbol. :thumb:
