got the kit will work on it if injury allows it.....(long story short) my car broke down on way to pick up the kit. i was repairing it on the side of the road and the drivers front rotor dropped on my shoulder and dislocated it..it may be a few days to a week before completion of the valve adjustment..
will pick the kit up monday

Sorry to hear about your injury!  Just take your time man.  I know how difficult it can be to try and work on something while injured.  I'm in no big hurry.  Just wait until you can do it right. :icon_razz:

yo heres my standings so far...
left exhaust is 0.063 mm gapped  --   right exhaust is 0.076 mm gapped
left intake is 0.076 mm gapped     --   right intake is less than 0.036 mm gapped

ill pull the right intake, measure and fo down 0.05 mm....this is what i should do right?

my goal is to get em as close to the same amount all around idk why im jus picky like that...i like symmetry
so ill try to get them all to 0.063 as thats dead middle of the acceptable range to give me some wear down slack depending on how thin my patience wears with the bucket tool...it looks like itl be a b**** to do lol especially one handed..
i dont exactly like the 2 measuring 0.076 because thats close to the max allowed gap

oh...i measured with the cams aimed to the rear... i just realized this is incorrect measuring...i will remeasure and double check with the masters here as to what i plan to do is correct..

ok both intakes are less than 0.036mm i will be trying 0.05 smaller shims for both as i can turn the buckets on both and both exhausts are at 0.063mm which was my goal gap  :thumb:....

i wasnt paying attention if the bat cover thingy was on the dial caliper or not as i took it out of box but just noticed it is not on there....im gonna have to pull my work bench and tool box and sweep my work area to look for it i tried the blindly  feeling around approach and found some florescent light glass the painful way.....is the powder in the florescent lights hazardous? if so uh oh...im gonna go wash out my cuts with rubbing alcohol just to be safe lol and get many band aids too

all done there wasnt a 2.50 for my right side but there was a .05 smaller for left (2.60) but didnt use cus i didnt want my intakes off ballance? if thats possible...so this means i used no shims and kept the stock idk..should i use jsut one and buy a shim?...how much are shims???...

will ship the kit out soon as possible.....im debating geting a shim from a dealership
oh also added the shim chart, rtv sealer, and im thinking about modifying the instructional dvd to work in all dvd players and adding it to the 2 existing ones with the kit.... as it dont work in any of mine except my computer  :dunno_white:

what do you guys think? buy a shim?
will it fix my crapy warm up, warm up misfires, sluggish mid rpm, and slow rpm return? if so ill be another day cus ill be tearing it back apart and puting a new shim in along with the 2.60 from the kit

Hi guys, A new GS500 user here. Purchased a 2004 model and looks like the gas efficiency is 40 mpg   I am hoping that the carb cleaning and the valve adjustment are much needed to pimp up the efficiency. Whoever has the kit, please pm me and I will mail you back with the address. Thanks a lot.

gmark

I'm waiting for the kit. After me is Tang, then lewismug then you.
