I would think the kit will be in limbo for quite awhile. From the way it was worded to me tells me he has no cash and does not see a way to ship it in the near future.

Well, there should be some cash in the kit.  Just for everyones benefit, do you guys think he could use that $ to ship it out to Tang?  At least that way, the kit would be making the rounds again.  When/if I ever get the kit and see what's included I will begin putting another kit together for the West coast.  Maybe divide the shims evenly between both kits.  I have tools I'd be willing to donate for the new kit.  All we would need is the valve tool.  I have plenty of allen wrenches.  Once I see how the kit is put together as far as the amount of tools/shims/packaging, I would be more than happy to start putting a new one together for the West coast.  What are your thoughts? :dunno_white:

There was $10. in it when I sent it out to him, plus I added a new gauge set and my cool new magnet tool!

It would cost about $12. without insurance, I insured it for $199.00. That would be about $14.50 Priority Mail.

Dang!  :icon_confused:

I'm thinking maybe forum members should be on for like a 6 month minimum before they get access to a kit anymore, it's a serious responsibility to take care of it and get it sent out in a timely manner. The shims alone were worth $100. I contributed $15. out of pocket to it too. That pisses me off.  :nono:

What is the kid's address? Do we have any other members in his town who could go pick it up?

I have everything but the shims to make a new kit thanks to ebay. I post after I get my valves done, but I wont get a chance to work on it for the next two weekends and the job will take two weekends to do as I have to order shims after checking whet I have/need.

suzukimx4789, if you'll give me your address, I will pay the shipping charges for ups.  I can call and have them pick up the kit from you and pay for it over the phone.  All you have to do is be there when they arrive to pick up the kit and make sure it's packaged well enough for shipment to tang.  How does this sound?  If it sounds good, you need to let me know which day would be best for them to come by to get it and make sure you're there when it's scheduled.

OK, you're onto something. How about a gstwins PAYPAL ACCOUNT that takes a deposit of say... $100 or so before the kit is shipped ? IT's WORTH MORE THAN THAT, but it would help weed out the folks that might sit on the kit and not care.

On a side note, we're not just replacing a missing kit. We should also take up donations to REPAY KERRY for his loss. I'm pledging $20 myself NOW.

I'll continue this on the 'Donate your shims thread that has just been stickied', to try and keep this thread as it was. :)

This is sad, it was such a good thing. :(

He was staying with his uncle, maybe if it's still there his uncle will do the responsible thing if UPS picks it up prepaid.

I am sorry! I am not able to comprehend the last one page of posts. :dunno_white: In essence
1) does it mean that the kit is lost and a new kit needs to be rebuilt?
2) No one is sure?  :icon_confused:

lewismug

The kit is in a members posession, but we aren't sure if/when he will be able to send it back out to the next in line.  Right now, there is no kit making the rounds.

I think that the paypal account deposit , * I hate paypal , ive been ripped off twice now and they dont care.* they charge money for accepting money , so every time ud do it , ud loose some money to them

the 6 month test is also good , but take acount into what they post about

seems to me , some little trouble maker , thats showing off , and admitting hes only got done for 500 for the 8000 balls hes used etc , and he seems pleased hes a month behind bills  , with no job in prison , should be trusted with a 200 buck kit

what would be better is to take say 10 bucks into a paypal account for evertime they have it , so theres money going into the pot for new bits and and bobs , and to reimburse Kerry

Also i watched the whole video and the man did a awesome job of explaining how its done , and everything , thank you Kerry
