Mixture and Diaphragm question

K, got my parts, and I'm gonna put the bike back together in a bit.  I mentioned before that the right carb is a little on the lean side, according to the white plug.  Do I richen it up by turning the air screw IN or OUT?  I'm guessing IN.  I'm also guessing that 1/4 turn should do it.

One of the parts I got was a new diaphragm (I got both actually) to replace the one with a tiny hole in it.  Would the tiny hole affect the mixture?  I didn't notice the hole until both diaphragms were out, so I don't know which side it came from.  I may not need to adjust the mixture if this is the case.

Thanks for your help

To richen the mixture screw (as it does draw fuel from the floatbowl as well) turn it out, but you may not need to, as you have stated that you are also replacing the selector diaphragm. Replace the diaphragm first and see how it goes.

I put the carbs and everything back together, and the bike started right up!  I was really happy that I at least didn't make things WORSE.  I ran it for a while, and took it to the gas station.  It seems to be running better than it did before.  I'm going to take it on a 70 mile round trip tomorrow, so I'll know more then.  I'll also know more when I check the plugs again...  Thanks for everyone's help!

Damn.  It's supposed to rain tomorrow.  Figures...   :x

Rip in diaphragm will make it lean and sorta make it not run above ~5-6K.
Cool.
