Painting my project bike

Greetings,

Bought my wonderful '92 GS500 a few months ago as a learner/project bike.  Although everyone seems to enjoy the turquiose color...because they always bring it up, I have decided to paint it.  I am doing it on the cheap and I am in Germany.  So I am not really looking to buy air brushes kits, etc...and finding things in Germany is not as easy since I have to translate everything but I wouldn't mind having fun with it.  Any suggestions?

So far I have removed everything but the tank and have started sanding and painting.  I am going with a glossy black since that is what was available at the store that I was at.

The one thing that I would like to do is increase my visibility from the side (like at intersections).  Any suggestions for that?

Paint it orange, yellow or red.  My GS is black and I think it needs to be painted.  I don't like it.  Those bright colors might help cagers spot you.

I would stick with the black paint and use a sticker kit if you want to increase your visiblity.  I don't know exactly where to get one, but I know a lot of stickers use scotchlite (sp?) which makes the stickers very reflective, even if the color of the sticker isn't that reflective.
