Listing says GSXR 1000, but then lists engine sizes as 700cc, no description.

Im not saying its the exact same bike, maybe should have added the words look alike in the title.... The point I was trying to make was that it has all the similiar mods, chrome frame, nice paint job, little extras, and would have cost alot more than that to get the bike in that cond.  Ive seen stock 2002 1000s going for 5gs, plus to not mention that it was a "replica" from biker boyz, just smelled like a scame to me.

like blueknyt said..its ebay, each posting could be a scam.  obviously use caution when buying something of a large dollar amoutn value.  hopefully people will check it out before paying.  but in the meantime, don't be so hasty  in declaring its a scam unless you can prove it.  it could very well be legit.

Nice Bike! :thumb:
If I had $3500.00 laying around and lived in the area I would take it. The paint job alone is really sharp and the chrome is sweet. I want a bigger bike with a sweet paint job and chromed out parts when I become a seasoned rider. That will be in the spring of 2006 that I make the purchase.....I hope. :)

yeah your right I shouldnt assume, I contacted the seller to see whats up.  I was involved with a scam with cycle trader so as a past time I find these scams and screw with the people.

I don't....have you ever sold a big ticket item and have the bidder back out? I have....I had to eat the listing fee. Believe me when you put a big ticket item like the bike on eBay and the person backed out at the last minute or revoked there bid or could not come up the funds for the bike the seller would pay a nice dollar amount for listing the item. I don't see a scam at all...I just see a seller protecting is pocket. I do it all the time now when it is a big ticket item. I only had to take one dead beat bidder to court since I started it. Funny thing is that I got the money for lawyers fees, listing fees and the item....he got nothing but a huge dent in his bank account. I relisted the item and made the sell..... :thumb:

Well the return email from the seller supports my initial opinion:

Hello there,

I am glad that you are interested in my bike. First of all I have to tell you that you I am located in Italy, Florence and I'll ship my bike from here and I'll cover the fees for the ship and insurance to your home address. The bike is in a perfect condition. Never been dropped or damaged.

This was my husband bike and he is not...anymore.

I don't want to get rich by it's selling, just want to give them to someone hwo will take good care. Because of my job i am traveling a lot and i can not stay home and expect to meet potential client. And also, I am using eBay services for a long time and also Square Trade.

For the moment we start the transaction, the bike will arrive to your door in 5 days tops.

The final price is 3500 USD.
For payment, I'll like to use an eBay service, so we'll be both protected.
I am a seller affiliated with eBay-Square Trade.
Square Trade will guarantee this transaction between us. They will intermediate our transaction so we are both protected. I will use them which are a independent company who act as a third party. There is of course a service charge for this service but I pay that.
If you have any questions, you can ask them at: support@squaretrade-motors.net.

They also required me for the transaction a deposit that can cover the transaction twice. They will keep the amount till the transaction will end and another 15 days more after. So, you have a great warranty.

Please let me know your eBay ID so I can register it at Square Trade. They will send you information about my seller status and also about the transaction.
Please let me know.

yeah, I've emailed a few of the people that post auctions for bikes like that (brand new bike for 1/3 of retail price).  They always want money wired somewhere, then I'll get my brand new pristine bike delivered to my home address in 5 days from somewhere in europe.  maybe bikes are really cheap over there, and they're just trying to help us out     I bought my second bike on ebay, although if it hadn't been local I would have passed.  even worse than these ebay scams is that I've seen people post similar ones in the cycle trader.

weaselnoze

fyo this auction was removed by ebay moderators!  lol it musta been a scam

RIP RICH! We'll miss you buddy!

Usually the "seller" removes the ad because that ways its not covered by square trade, square trade guarantees the transcation if the auction goes through ebay, but these guys pull the auction and want to deal out side of ebay that way square trade wont cover it and take their money.  Ive seen a couple of these on both ebay and cycle trader but the scams are a little different.  All the bikes are located out of the country, are all 1/2 -1/4 of the usual price, all have some kind of story, and most say they will be here in 5 days or less.  Well I have talked to shipping companies, and it takes about 10 days or more, and usually costs about the same price they are asking to ship it.  Im still emailing the guy and trying to mess with him.

There are people who look for scams for fun.  Like a sport.  Thank goodness for them.  Every time a scammer puts up a bogus add they are emailing Ebay informing them it looks like a scam.

Must be nice to have so much time on their hands... but thank goodness they do! :thumb:
