I searched the archives and couldn't find it.  I have a stock 89 gs with bad fork seals.  This weekend I'm replacing the seals and oil, which brand and weight of oil should I use if I want a slightly stiffer ride?

thanks,

I've read to go with Redline fork oil, their reason was that Redline is truer to the indicated weight (viscosity) of the oil. Personally, I'm using Bel-Ray til I find out if there isn't a price difference between Bel-Ray and Redline. Read it on BARF.

I just rebuilt mine this winter and went with Bel-Ray 15 wt.  I can tell a heck of a difference in the front end with the change.

I'm currently using 10w with Progressive springs and a couple of 1/8" thick washers in each leg for preload. I weigh 130#, right now, and the front end is tight such that I can feel every bump.

You really need to get those forks checked to see if they're straight or not.
