The list of things that need doing before I heit the streets:

Install new 15t sprocket
remove wheels to take to shop (install new Avon rubber); reinstall
adjust float height
oil change
Valve adjustment

I'm looking forward to getting out there on the new sticky tires and testing out the Fat-Rider-Pulling-Power of the new 15t sprocket.  Hopefully I can knock this stuff out in one weekend.

Any suggestions on (cheap) ways to hold the bike up while the wheels are off?  :dunno:

2x4, 13 and 1/2 inches in length, place it so it is leaning against one of the case-half bolts between the headers, push on the rear of the bike and the 2x4 should rock itself under, and wala, the front end is suspended.

For added security (expecially in earthquake areas), I sling a pair of tie-downs from the rafters, and attach them to the handlebars.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

I've seen a ladder used in conjunction with various jacks and jack stands....basically hanging the front of the bike, while the rear was up on jack stands....

it wasn't the safest thing....but then it wasn't me doing it

you could basically do the same thing with jack stands and a front fork stand I guess.....
