RANT!!!

OMG THIS IS PISSING ME OFF!!! OK OK, calm down, the girl (hottie btw) that we designated as our group leader has turned out to be a flake. She misses every other class OF A ONE NIGHT A WEEK 3 HOUR CLASS and leaves early on all the others. She has all of the group work that I need to start compiling into a presentation, but hey, shes never there to get it to me. The rest of the group is starting to get pretty p'ed off. What am I to do? Ive tried calling her, hey shes out of town tonight, ive tried emailing her, no dice there, she uses her moms email account (seriously who doesnt have one of their own now adays???). We only heave 5 more weeks left in class, which means 4 more weeks to get the presentation done and finished so we can present it to the government class. We have 8 members or so in the group, and WHY THE HELL did we have to pick the flake as our group leader?!?! BAH, that will learn me....no more relying on hot girls simply because they are hot and look professional (what can i say she looked good in a pants suit....)..... God i hope i can get ahold of her to finish the project....

sounds like you might want to talk to the professor soon.  if you make him/her aware of the situation early on, you might be cut some slack.

Just cause they're good looking doesn't make them a good leader...shitty luck, definatly talk to the prof and keep calling until you get the stuff and then take over as the group leader and take it from there. Good luck.

Well, turns out she came through after all. She gave our questions to another member in the group to get to me so I can finish up my portion of the project. Kick ass....can i repeal my previous rant?? (i recant everything but her looking good)

No, don't. She's still a flake. Group work at school (trust me i've done enough for 3 lifetimes at Drexel) is about communication, first and foremost. She didn't value your membership enough to see to it that YOU got the materials and left you hanging to the point of ranting. If she gave a shaZam! she wouldn't be so much of a ghost. I've had this come up several times over my soon to be over college carreer and everytime we call a person out face to face on their lack of communication or participation, they magically get more involved.

You should try having the starting quarterback on the football team in one of your groups at a SEC school.   The guy never attended one group meeting... I'm sure he made a better grade in the course than I did.
