DJ kit is useless ... 125 minas and 40 pilots (whihc you already have stock I believe) and a 1 mm thick washer under needle and 3 out on mix screw ... You dont have 125 mains stock ... look in your manual for the GS UK specs. If so you're home free ... Cos you also have adjustable needles stock I believe ... lift up those 1-2 clip. BTW if its an 01+ bike none of this is valid ... not a clue what you got.

Hi,

thanks for the advice - yeah its a 40 pilot as stock - I think the main jets are a 122.5, so going to 125 would be going up one size.

My bike is a '98.

So all I need to do is fit the new mains, shift the fuel needle, and adjust the fuel/air mixture?

sounds easy enough now - I'll just have to read my haynes manual

cheers

Yea ... you brits have it easy ... couple years ago someone send me a very elaborate scaled up drawing of their needle ... and Turns out its the same as US needle except its got 5 grooves for a clip to be set instead of 1 like US needles ... You just get mains and open up the air screw caps ... or you even have those ... if not great ... put 125 and raise needle 1 clip and open that to 3 from lightly seated ... Light ... not tight ...
Cool.

i put a dynojet kit in mine....yeah its expensive but this way i knew i couldnt mess it up...its comes with 4 different mains jets depending on your setup, different needles, springs, pilot jets, cant complain really....was easy to do and the bike runs great. :thumb:
