Anyone know how, or if the gs500 can be lowered about 2 in. to accomodate a wee soul?
Lookin into a different seat, heard if you change profile on tires...
Saw "lowering kits" for other bikes.
Currently ride a Suzuki Intruder750, can "flatfoot" very well on this one.
I would like to add a Sportbike to my riding experience, uneasy about being on the balls of my feet tho...
Perhaps can lead to being on me arse???
Any thoughts or tips
Thanx

Yes, do a search on "lowering links" or "dogbones" and it should answer your questions.

Hey breeze, I did it to mine... I bought aluminum GSXR600 lowering links - fit really nice (and lightweight).  Then I lowered the forks through the yolk in the front - if you dont have clip on bars, you wont be able to lower the front....

He meant to say, "Do a search here (on this site) on dogbones". Which would get you this: http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6567&highlight=dogbones

Do the search within this website.  You'll see the search function above where is says [Search].  Click on that and do a boolean search for dog bones or lowering links.

Basically, longer dog bones lower your bike.  Short one raise the bike (in the rear anyway).  The front can be lowered by sliding the fork tubes down in the trees.

Be careful adjusting the ride height.  It can effect your bike's performance pretty quick.

There is  somebody that is making custom dog bones too.   If you're really sweet he might sell you some.
