I have a leaking oil line it is cracked and has a small leak...I need to get to work tomorrow and no shops are open what kind of quick fix can I do? And how much does it cost to fix and can i do it myself? Thanks

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

If it's a small leak, leave it alone.  If you think you'll run out of oil before your destination, or it's leaking on the tires, I guess 'ya better fix it.

1 method:  Get 2-part epoxy putty and wrap around leaking area.  (After cleaning with Acetone and roughing up w/ sandpaper)  Then wrap with Duck Tape for effect.

It will last for a little while, but don't leave it like that forever.

Edit to add:  They do make commercial pipe sealing kits for hi-press steam, water, oil, etc.  Check a commercial plumbing supply.

Oil line?  :?

Are you talking about
a HOSE, like the airbox drain hose that comes out near the right footpeg[/list:u]or
a "straight line", like a gasket between two engine parts[/list:u]?

it's a hose but I don't know if it's the drain hose...I'll have to see in the morning...

This is what my airbox drain hose looked like a year ago.  I'm sure it looks even worse now....

It has a slit cut into it on purpose, so the blow-by oil from the breather cover (on top of the valve cover) can find an exit.

He may have an newer model with the oil cooler...

And in that case...you could find a brass plug that you could thread into the outlet port, but they proabably use pressure fittings so you would have to find one that has that but is a plug....

IF you dont have an oil cooler, then dont worry....

And here is a close up, it looks to me like two different hoses....? Maybe the oil made the other one look darker?

Thanks Kerry, I followed the blow off tube and that's what's cracked so I'm going to fix it up and not worry cause it's supposed to be a drain. I was just scared that it was an oil line and some part of my engine wasn't getting the oil it needed. Thanks again all

Cheers
