Cam chain guides..........what comes off to replace them ?

My Clymer manual isn't that clear.Any tips would be appreciated.

Do you mean what wears to cause them to need to be replaced or what do you need to tear apart to replace them?

Anyway, I've got a '90 GS and I just tore my engine down and the cam chain guides looked great.  I just left them as is.  If you want to replace them, the front one comes right out.  The rear one involves splitting the crankcase I think - not really sure though.  Perhaps someone else will chime in soon with something a bit more brilliant than what I've posted here.   :lol:

I don't think you have to split the cases but you do have to remove the head and possibly the jugs to remove the rear guide. I've never been into the White Owl (should hope not...only 5 thou on it). Love little Nicci, Rome (the stories that place can tell), and this forum.
