:x Started taking the carbs apart on my 1990. These things were in terrible shape. Wasn't too bad of a deal till I lost the little washer that goes in before the pilot needle.  :x Spent almost an hour looking for that little bastard. Well, I guess it's a good thing I still need to order more stuff from MR Cycles. Now I get to start reassembling the top end.

heh

One little trick is to disassemble stuff like that on top of a white plastic garbage bag that has been opened up.  It will keep stuff from rolling away.  If you think there might be a few springs to come loose, disassemble inside the plastic bag to keep them from flying out the door.  Works for me when disassembling jet fuel controls.   :thumb:
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Had it all apart, but didn't realize that  the washer was even in there. Didn't look at the manual close enough.Saw something go flying while I was blowing it out. I should have know better. Got in a hurry to get done. Fuel Controls huh? Went to school and got my A&P in 96.

lol!  Yep, done that a few times!  That's when I get quiet, hoping to hear it ping the shop wall 200' away.  At least then I can narrow down the search area.

Cool!  Still in aviation?  I'm in, but not in maintenance anymore.  I miss some of the customers, all their crazy problems, and staring out the hangar door at the cool planes.  lol

Oh yeah...  And changing cylinder base studs on O-540's.

"Spent a total of about two hours on my hands and knees looking. My Dad siad I could use this big magnet he has, but my workbench is next to my lathe. I'd be there forever. "

"Never got into it. Sent a ton of resumes out. Waas making decent money as a machinist, and had two younger children. The only two offers I got were almost half of what I was making. My son is almost done with school and i'm thinking I could afford the pay cut. Worked on Helicopters in the service, and would love to get back into aviation in some form."
