i'm nowhere near my bike right now, can anyone tell me the diameter of the tach and speedo?

They are not cylinders. Min diameter is approx. 84mm, Max (not the outside lip) is approx. 87mm. Outside the metal lip is approx. 98mm.

Other things to consider are the various things sticking out all over them. Humps and bumps for features not used in this instrument. I think the instrument OEM used the housing for various bikes and taylored the instrument to the housing.
