if you want to practice a reserve switch just sit on your bike with hands on handle bars and try to reach behind your left leg to flip the switch over and over. I can do it now without missing a heartbeat.

I get soaked everyday coming home from work, the stuff in my backpack stays dry, if i get wet it doesnt really matter I just change clothes.

Yep, a couple of times.  ;)

I keep my eyes on the road, stick my knee out like I'm going to be Mladin and drag it, then reach down and back in front of my leg and turn the petcock.  Takes about one full second.

I don't mind the rain.
About a month ago drove from Vermont to NJ in a pouring rain.
In summer getting drenched is not a problem.
It's good for the soul.
I tried to get drenched a few weeks ago but the clouds would
not cooperate, they just moved away.

:)   Kinda freaky, but I actually practiced finding the switch...  Now I just switch over to reserve when I'll hit 185 in my trip...

Although...  I have to say, it REALLY sucked trying to find the Res switch on my sister bike.  She let me ride it once and it hit the reserve a few miles down the road... :?

As for the rain...  I get rained on all the time.  Jeans dry in about two hours.   :thumb:

One nice thing I like about the SV650:  No petcock.  When the low fuel light starts blinking time to get gas.

Suzuki engineers must have tried hard to put that petcock in that stupid location.

Cool... You can only dodge the rain for so long :) Rain isn't that bad on the GS500F. I took my 1st trip in the rain also just this past Tuesday. Must say for the amount I worried about being caught in a rainstorm I had a good ride... (note to self, need antifog spray)

And for the amount it rained I was actually surprisingly dry... The fairings on my 04 stick out and cover a good portion of my legs from being drenched.
