Gentle lay down from center stand

I was putting my GS500F on the center stand to apply some chain wax Saturday and lost my balance and the bike slowly and gently went over on its right side. Nothing broke, but this morning I noticed the plastic end piece on the throttle was askew and the handlebars were out of position. They had been moved to the left; the splines were visible to the left of the clamps where they bolt down, and they also seemed to be rotated forward slightly.

Will the end piece on the throttle be OK or does it need to be replaced? And can I just loosen and slide the handlebars back into position then tighten them back down? Seeking the advice of you experts since I don't want to make an apparently easy repair then get on the road and discover I should've done more.

At least the chain is well-waxed.

Thanks for your help.

Doug
