Srinath 4 weld bars

How much can you shorten the width on the 4 weld bars on a newer gs500f?

I have not got mine yet but have seen some pics and I think I would like them a little shorter.  

Have any of you guys/girls cut them down?

Had to look at my bike....an inch at the most due to the master cylinder banjo and brake line.  Would interfere with the speedo otherwise.

I have his two weld bars, which are narrower.  I can barely cram everything on there.  I actually had to shave the throttle grip down a bit to fit it on.  Take into accout your mirrors if you cut yours down.  It looks funny if your mirrors are wider than your handlebars.
