Only auto for the 840, though, and the auto trannies on the 8s had chronic issues...  The 850CSi is the one to get.  The closest thing to an M8 made; it has an S-designation engine (S70, 5.6L V12).  Not easy to find.

Danke!

I like those old BMers with the HUGE windows...  Whatever those are...   :dunno:

Jake D

BMW made a Vista Cruiser for a couple years in the '70's.  Ultra nice.

A friend of mine had an 850 and I had to drive one time when he was drunk.  I liked it.  A lot.

Not a bad Friday car.

How about a new M3?  With that crazy light blue color?  M & M blue?

If I hit the lotto, I may have to get one of those.

Many of the ancients believe that Jake D was made of solid stone.

See any Isetta's there? (you know, that one-door-steve-urkle-car)

My little bro bought an '88 528e...he drove it for 3 miles and it burst into flames...now we are in the process of finding a donor car cause anythign that was plastic under the hood has to be replaced...useless but he loves the damn thing  :?

Usually there are, but this year none showed up.  Last year was nuts - we had a 328 roadster (the mid-30s one), an M1, a Glas, an Isetta; you name it.

The CSs?

The Isettas?

The windows are less slanted...  Almost like a top-hat car...  Like a really little '62 Nova...  The ones where the windows are nearly half the height of the car...  I have no idea...  Maybe I should stop being lazy and look for what I'm talking about.   :dunno:

The 1600?  There are a few that look kinda like it...

1600, 1800, and 2002.  There's a big 2002 group in these parts.

My brother had one.  I almost got one, but it ended up being cheaper to get my E30 than to buy either a cherry 2002, or buy a non-cherry one and deal with the issues.     Plus, the E30 is fuel-injected, and a lot easier to work on.  The only FI 2002(tii) is rare and expensive - and an early, PITA FI system.

I've never even tried to work on Fuel Injection...

Most carbs are easy to understand and work on...  Except...  I never figured out why the cold-start idle on my Bug never worked right.  I had to manually set it.

I still think the 2002 (or 1600 or whatever) look cooler.  But, I'd never buy one...  I'm done with collector cars with expensive parts.  Ok... Well...  I've never had a collector car with expensive parts, but I bet it sucks.

I started on FI and only had to deal with carbs when I moved to bikes; that's probably why I prefer FI.  We like what we learned on.
