so i went down in a canyon, luckly i was wearing a 1pc suit and all so iam fine. not even a scratch on me, walked away jsut fine. But my bike didnt, from what i see the handle bars are f%&ked, the brake lever broke off, the tach gauge broke, the tank is dented. What should i do?? should i sell the bike?? as is, and just take the hit, or should i try and fix it. Iam done riding the street, casue i ride to agressive and i know iam get myself in trouble again. So iam gonna stick to the track, my plan was to sell this and in like 3 months pick up a 600 and just turn it into a track bike.

thanks guys, glad i can still post up....

Well, if it's really just bars, brake lever, and tach it won't cost much to fix...  You can get aftermarket bars for about $15.  Then post adds Here for the brake lever and tach...

Dented tanks might look back, but they still work.  You might even be able to pull the dent with one of those glued-dent-puller-thingymabobbers.

oops,  you'll need a new one of them

OK... Well...  That might be more.   :dunno:

Based on your comment of wanting to get a 600 track bike in 3 months...

Parting it out would probably net you the most money but would take longer. Not saying that selling it as-is would be any quicker. Doubtful that you would be able to recover the costs of the repairs.

Another option is to turn your GS into a track bike. Sounds like most of the street crap is gone anyway. Run it for awhile then later get another bike.
Common sense in not very common.

get new bars, lever and what ever you need for rear brakelight  and ride it.  you may find once on the track your not as agressive on the street. you dont need a tach to ride on the street.

you ride too agressive on the street? as in you cant control yourself? turn in your DL, get an state ID and a Monthly bus pass, as i wouldnt want you on the streets in a car either.

If you can control yourself in a car, you can do it on a bike. No one else is twisting your wrist.  learn it or you could hurt someone else, even on a track.

I got tired of the tickets, so i learned where and when to play. Had i the income, i probly wouldnt have any need to play on street as i would be on the track, but i would still have a bike for streets.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?
