Im looking for a good textile Jacket. I think Im gonna go with the Teknic Aquavent. But I'm not sure if its actually a summer jacket or a cold weather jacket. here is a link:

What do you guys think?

(the supervent is on there too, thats my back up choice)

you should get the joe rocket reactor s leather/textile jacket.  I has nice padding where you need it with vents to keep cool.  also you can get it at newenough.com for $90!

The way I read it its a summer jacket, they use the word mesh.  Also it has a liner that sounds like the JR liner you can buy to put JR mesh jackets
QuoteZip out 100% waterproof, wind proof and breathable Powerskin liner
My only experience with Tecnic is cheap boots and a cheap rainsuit.  Boots are ok would not recommend the rainsuit.  I would think their higher end stuff is better but  :dunno:

how bout you get some pants first, ya carnie.

JR comes in blue, yellow, or red from newenough.com.  if you take the liner out.  it is pretty comfortable in the heat (have all vents open).  I have a red one to match my GS500E.  I like the jacket alot.  haven't had it during cold but I don't think I'll be riding much during winter in central ohio.

My jacket doesnt fit me anymore, id rather be safe and comfortable, then safe and completely uncomfortable and unable to feel my hands. The jacket billows up around me now and the arms are to tight around my shoulders and forearms. My gloves are cutting off the circulation in my hands now too. But in the chest tummy area its to big...very odd...

One of our techs went down in jeans; even under anesthesia, a couple of orderlies had to hold his leg down while another one brillo-ed out the rash.  It later got infected...

The gal who sold me my first GS and my F650 told me she went riding with a pair of friends, one who was wearing assless chaps over jeans.  When he went down, he slid on his back; she said you could see the progression along the road.  Shredded denim, followed by shredded ass.

I just change into jeans when I get to work.

Daniely

New Enough doesnt have the reactor in my size :(. I need a Large.

The rash did suck, ill give you that. And waking up stuck to bed sheets, and having to peel clothing off yourself in the morning, that REALLY sucked. But by far the worst pain ive EVER felt in my life was having the rash scrubbed out...the nurse used dish soap and a scrubby pad. I had a seperated shoulder with some torn tendons, and my sisters BF was holding my arms down behind my head. After about 5 min of scrubbing I told her to fookin take the leg, and at that point in time i WASNT kidding. It sucked.

ok, I forgot about you telling me that.  anyway I've crash tested the chicane textile jacket works great btw. with the zip out liner it's a 3.5 season jacket (if there's snow on the ground I'm not on the gs.)  you can get a chicane jacket, pants, and CE armor for under 300.  what size was the jacket again?

Daniely

Im looking at a JR Large, or XL. Im borderline right now in sizes. I wear a 38 but ive always had a larger chest. Im prolly lookin at a 50 in teknic sizes. Im within their waist range, but above their weight range for the 48. So id say a 50 in teknic and prolly a L or XL in JR gear.

OH YEA, that yellow jacket in the pics, holds up to crashes real well. I still wear it after my impact with rocks and whatnot that caused the whole fiasco to begin with.

That jacket doesn't look to bad though I don't like the back =/.

I first went with a Suzuki jacket which also matched my bike:

But it was a little loose which caused it to flap in places on the highway. Then I did more research and from recommendations, I ended up getting a FirstGear jacket. Its a combination of materials but has leather on where its needed such as elbows and shoulders. It also has lots of vents that you can close and open - it's perfect!
