It's an 02, not an 01.

I think I can handle taking everything off and finding the pieces, but then it's actually changing things to the right sizes and checking the liquid to see if it's light brown to make sure it's the right sizes.

what in the where now? ok its simple. find someone who has the same set up as you (filter n pipe) and same carb year (01+).  ask them what jet sizes they used.  find a few different ppl and use teh most common settings.  SIMPLE!  whats this hershey squirts ur talkin about?

The K&N filter that mounts directly to the carbs will make the bike sound a lot better.  I love the sound of the intake at full song.  You hear it more than the exhaust.

I used the Dyno Jet kit when I put on the V&H.  It worked perfectly.

So would it be a stage 3 jet kit that I buy because I already have the V&N exhaust and I want to get a K&N lunchbox.  Is there anything else needed for stage 3?

Yes with K&N Lunchbox, and aftermarket pipe, the stage 3 would be the way to go.
